Hello! Thank you all to my returning readers! Watching you grow, develop new skills, and refine old ones has been an absolute joy! For all the new readers joining us, my name is Joey Cannoli. I started Holy Grail Chemistry with the goal of developing a company that enhances cannabis breeding education and produces the best fertilizers for it. It is my pleasure to serve as a rich hub of information for new breeders and veteran breeders alike.

POLLENETIX® is my own formula and a blend of silver thiosulfate solution. It’s a purpose-built formula meant to induce the formation of male sex organs (pollen sacks) on your female cannabis plants to create feminized cannabis seeds.

Due to both plants being female, the results of the reversal will produce feminized pollen. This feminized pollen is applied to another female cannabis plant or an untreated part of this plant to create all feminized seeds.

Using two tried-and-true strains is ideal for breeders looking to narrow the hallway and chances of getting an oddball strain during the seed-making process. Typically, the strains being used can vary from old legacy strains to new hype strains and everything in between. It is always a good idea and should be a mandatory practice to look for cuts that are tested for HPLVD and are free of any pest infestations. This practice will save you countless hours of stress and dollars down the road.

Please refer to my past articles, if need be, to refresh yourselves and understand chronologically where we are at in our growing stance.

Right now, step by step, we have created the reversal and are getting pollen dumped from the exposed and falling pollen sacks (nanners).

Open pollination is a time-old method used by cannabis breeders all around the world. Our goal is to simulate the natural environment and the conditions she provides.

The use of fans and agitating the plant will shake pollen loose and blow it about your breeding chamber. The position of the fans can also help. A common practice is dislodging the pollen in parchment paper and blowing it from the paper all over the plants and chamber.

What are some key factors and questions to ask yourself?

Is my imagination limiting how I am going about this? There are two ways to consider this. Keep it simple, stupid, and don’t make things too difficult. OR go ham! Go all out because doing funky stuff in the garden and experimenting is what led us to start breeding cannabis seeds to begin with!

It’s best we all understand that our techniques are what make craft king. The subtle nuances in the details will slightly change the flowers, taste, aroma, structure, and other features in its profile.
One should also consider.

Is there enough mechanical movement of air in the chamber to keep humidity at rest while also being able to move the pollination about?
What fan speeds should I be running my fans at?

What are the intervals at which I plan to agitate my plant? Daily? Twice a day?

Am I collecting any pollen in an attempt to save?

Am I looking to collect pollen with the intent to attempt a controlled pollination?

The list can go on, and truth be told. The more questions we ask ourselves, the more situations we will be prepared to overcome as they arise. Every experienced breeder will tell you one true thing. We see a lot of everything. From strains that are absolute holy grail strains that you want to give to everyone so you can put them on to strains that look insane, with massive amounts of frost that smoke like absolute garbage. To strains that have weird, oddball bud structures that pull 4% plus in terps. We see it all, it comes with the craft and trade of being a cannabis breeder. There’s one thing we always have to remember. Going for it is how things in this game and industry get done. If you don’t take this risk creating your own strains, you’ll be running someone else’s that has!

Happy Growing to everyone out there! More information on this campaign can be found here on Skunk Magazine’s website or mine!
