Seriously there are so many really unique cannabis varieties to choose from it’s pretty all inclusive. The kinds you won’t find are most of the Hashplant kind; at least not the standard ones, like say the olden AK47 was very dominant with. Just not a fan myself so I don’t work with too much of that other than distantly in a couple polyhybrids.

KOS does have an old world Hashplant type, that I feel is very unique. Tom Hill was responsible for inbreeding these genetics originally—and my source for the original seeds—and I have inbred them for purple calyxes/resin production/overall size for more than a few generations. A long flowering type that goes 10-weeks. Very long legs for this type, at least a few hours long. Uber potent, deadly, and super-fuelly-honey oil terpenes. Big yields and serious purple colors. Only one requirement… Don’t let her soil pH drop below 6.8 and she highly prefers 7.0-ish.

Lots of Thai hybrids, and killer old-world sativas in the mix. Along with old indicas from Tibet-ish/Himalayas, and Hawaii, etc. Have a look around, I’ll give you a link to KOS at the end of the article.
Alright then amigos, let’s rock and/or roll with today’s “Letters” to Rev…
Kingdom Organic Seeds Question #1: Fat Tuesday
FROM: Titus M., Redding, CA
“Rev buddy, I was so excited to see the Fat Tuesday was back. I think that is one of the most fun strains I have ever smoked and I have always gotten some Fat Tuesday every year. I noticed at KOS in the last inbreed to f3 I believe, you changed the indica/sativa ratios. My question is, why? Did you select a harder indica lean on the latest one or what? I’m going to get some more for shits and giggles but I’ll be a bit disappointed if it is now a heavy indica.”

ANSWER TO Q1
Hey amigo, good catch on the sativa/indica ratios LoL… This is actually more of a ‘stupid stoner’ answer than any kind of directed selection on my part to lean the Fat Tuesday towards indica. When I was updating the Fat Tuesday this last time, I realized that my original indica/sativa ratios were wrong regarding the F1 hybrid. All I did was fix that, heh heh.
That being said, the Fat Tuesday is a very unique recombination with definite shine through sativa aspects. It will make you happy to know I have since grown out a few Fat Tuesday girls, and every one of them rang true to me. I mean, as far as authentic Fat Tues. For sure 3 out of 4 will be as like. I selected for everything that variety shines with, to me—and obviously to you as well—cheers.
Kingdom Organic Seeds Question #2: The Thai Experience
FROM: Sheldon V., Inland Empire, CA
“Hey Rev. I have a 2-part question if you don’t mind. First, is Thai especially hard to grow? Second, which of KOS’ Thai hybrids would you recommend for the truest Thai experience? Thank you.”
ANSWER TO Q2

You are a man after my own cannabis (especially Thai) loving heart, heh heh. Okay, you will want the Chunky Cherry Thai here in my experience. You are looking for the longer flowering phenotypes here; ones that go around 11-weeks, plus a few days maybe, but at least 11-weekers. Of these females, which are about 40%-50% of all females, approximately 1 in 3 (1:2) will be what you are looking for. The difference in the 3 longer flowering females will be raw potency. 1 of them per my experience will be quite obviously super wicked, per resin production. “Thar she blows!” Pretty close to a pure Thai ride right there.
KOS also carries some well bastardized (hybridized) Thai that is reminiscent of the 9-week flowering Juicyfruit Thai that was a huge fav and still is. Super punch, big legs, rushy as all hell—don’t stand up too fast when smoking this one—and this one is… the Riffraff Thai. The Blue Thai, is pure medicine for the mind. Very sativa potent intensely, inspires more of an inward or creative journey. Long legs, and uber happy up vibe to it.

A pure Thai (landrace/heirloom) can be challenging to grow Sheldon. They are usually very stretchy, highly vigorous plants. Space conquering Medusas. Not to mention you have to weed out hermaphrodites (hermies) which are almost always present in landrace Thai genetics. Real Thai would normally go about 12-14 weeks. Some wilder Thai types will go 16+ weeks flowering. KOS Thai hybrids are all handled sexually speaking, yield well, and will kick your ass.
Kingdom Organic Seeds Question #3: Blue Rhino 1947 Medical Properties
FROM: J.D., San Diego, CA
“Rev Homie! I’m from your native city amigo. What is your take regarding the medical properties of Blue Rhino 1947? Does it seriously help peeps with muscle spasms? That sounds like just what I need. I have been pretty disappointed in other breeders’ ‘medical strains’ lately, and then I remembered you have this one I have never tried. I actually just spaced that you had this for a long time. Thanks.”

ANSWER TO Q3
Howdy J.D., my esteemed homeskillet, heh heh. Well, I am not a doctor and I don’t play one on the internets, however… Speaking personally, Blue Rhino 1947 (BR1947) is extremely unique in its ability to quell nerve damage related spasms. Works very well for me, and prolly another hundred or so peeps I have heard from over the years. I have old damage, including nerve damage. I will sometimes get spasms that will cause me pretty gnarly pain. BR1947 can totally handle the spasms for me.

My favorite phenotypes of the BR1947 are both females with somewhat more elongated floral morphology. Almost always very vigorous and often stretch quite a bit in pre-flowering. Large colas. Super resinous, and these phenos don’t usually express much of the Berry side of the terpenes. More like blonde hashish/honey oil/fuel; sometimes slightly Berry-ish on the exhale. The high type from these females is otherworldly. I often miss hunks of time, LoL, this is the stuff I smoke like ½ a doobie of and “come to” 20 min later holding half a doobie roach between my fingers. I then wonder WTF I have been doing for the last 20 min. So, it’s really fun, it absolutely handles muscle spasms for me and others, bomber potency, makes dream worthy dry sift Hashish, and won’t break the bank—yup.
Afterword
Come by and say high over at Kingdom Organic Seeds, have a look around and see what you think. Two of my very favorite wake-n-bakers are C99, and Blue Rhino 1947. Both inspiring varieties for early morning enjoyment; especially with coffee. I just love-love-love the Chunky Cherry Thai, but for a wake-n-bake she would be seriously debilitating. She carries a lot of real deal “space-queen” Thai in her high type. Intensely potent.
Here’s another article by yours truly if you care to peruse it: Letters to Rev – The Rev’s Personals. My time here today has ended earthlings. Catch ya all back here on the flip-flop next Tuesday. Take good care, and randomly make someone’s day happier today maybe? Heh heh, cheers and L8r G8rs.
