For months, l’ve been thinking about what conversations need to be had among African-Americans that will help change the way we think about cannabis. Recently, l’ve come to realize that it isn’t about the conversations we have but the actions we take. One of my goals for 2020 was to begin sharing CBD oil products with the African-American elders in my local community because many of them are taking a cocktail of prescription drugs to deal with the effects of old age (and systematic racism). Whenever I receive a CBD product sample in the mail, I test it out on my grandmother and she loves it. In an attempt to go beyond my own 4 walls, I gave my friends “meemaw” a sample of the One Less 400MG Topical Cream to help her deal with the pain she’s been feeling after knee surgery.
As you can see from the screenshot, she loved it! In an effort to 12introduce more African-Americans seniors to the positive benefits of CBD, I decided to compile a list of my recent CBD oil product favs.
If you’re an African-American senior curious about testing CBD oil products or you have parents and grandparents that you think may be interested, then this is the list for you.
1. Purple Leaf Baths 200MG CBD Soaking Salts
A calming blend of epson salt, 200MG of CBD Isolate, cocoa butter, hemp seed oil, and coconut oil, the Purple Leaf Soaking Salts is a great way to release any tension that may be hiding deep in your body. This product is a great substitute for African-American seniors who typically add epson salt to their warm baths.
2. One Less 400MG Topical Cream
As you can tell from the screenshot above, this topical cream is the truth! I’ve used it to deal with back pain, hip pain, and the occasional swelling in my knees. With continued use, you will notice that whatever inflammation or pain that you’re feeling will lessen. It contains active ingredients that are meant to help manage your symptoms on-the-go. For African-American seniors looking soothe their pain at night, then this product is great because the hot sensation aids in calming your nerves, reducing pain, and lulling you off to a healing sleep.
3. KAYAIRE Rejuvenating Gel Cleanser
CBD is great for melanin! KAYAIRE’s Rejuvenating Gel Cleanser seeps deep into your pores and rids your skin of unwanted oil and dirt. The CBD in this cleanser is one of the main ingredients that works to clear our pores, while adding hydration and moisture. This is great for African-American seniors who have delicate skin and want a gentle cleanser to keep their skin glowing and supple.
4. +PLUSCBD 15MG CBD Softgels Gold Formula
I’ll be honest, CBD oil doesn’t have a very welcoming taste. It can sometimes be bitter, but I’ve found that these softgels are a great alternative to CBD tinctures. When I wake up in the morning, I typically take one of these softgels with a glass of water. I personally like to use CBD to help me manage my mood by promoting a sense of calmness and focus within me, which is a great way to start the morning. Most of the African-American Seniors I know wake up with the sun, so these softgels may be a great product to add to their morning routine.
5. K’dara 2000MG Lavender Cream
If you haven’t noticed, a lot of CBD products are focused on helping people relieve some kind of physical or mental stress. K’dara’s 2000MG Lavender Cream is no different. I would recommend this cream for African-American seniors looking to release tension in their body without the harsh scent that most healing creams have. Also, this product is packed with CBD! I definitely recommend it for folks who really want to feel the benefits of CBD.
6. Bluebird Botanicals Immune Support Vitamin D3 & CBD Oil
If 2020 has shown us anything, it’s definitely shown us that we must look after our health. When I received this CBD oil, I was really excited to try it because I am curious about how cannabis can support all of the systems in our bodies. When I take the +PLUSCBD CBD Oil Softgels, I follow up with a few drops of this CBD oil under my tongue. When I speak about CBD oil tinctures having a bitter taste, I am definitely talking about this oil in particular. It tastes very earthy because of how potent the CBD oil is. It includes vitamin d3 which supports a “healthy adaptive and innate immune response”.
7. Tyson Ranch 100MG Full-Spectrum CBD Hemp Oil Chocolates
I love sweets, so I was so delighted to taste this dark chocolate bar from Tyson Ranch. The chocolate is so velvety and turns into a soft cream as soon as it hits your tongue. Whenever I’m in the mood for something sweet, I grab a piece of this to give my sweet tooth what it needs, and I don’t feel guilty for it.
8. Blissful Stoner Body Essentials 50MG Peppermint + Eucalyptus Body Oil for Tension and Headaches
If you’re an African-American senior prone to headaches, then this roll on is a great addition to your self-care kit. Not only does it reduce your headaches, it also works to uplift your mood and usher in peace. Put it in your purse or wallet for relief on-the-go. It has almond oil and avocado oil which are also moisturizing to the skin, while CBD oil works to keep your skin hydrated.
9. Wes Wellness 400MG CBD Premium Sports Cream
Are you a African-American senior who loves going to the gym or staying active? This sports cream is great to provide relief to your muscles, especially if they’re tense. My grandmother goes for a walk daily and sometimes her legs and back hurt, so I rub this on the areas that hurt and she experiences instant relief.
10. Kats Botanicals 300MG CBD Berry Gummies
These gummy’s are so yummy. I just ran out today, and I am upset. Whenever I was feeling anxious, I would pull the bottle out of the bag, grab two, and pop them in my mouth. Instantly, I would feel calm. COVID-19 has been pretty stressful for everybody, and African-American seniors who deal with stressful situations should definitely try these. They’re a sweet reminder to remain calm and rise above your problems.
11. Kats Botanicals 500MG Healing CBD Salve
I’m always looking for a good salve to rub my body down with. What I love about this healing salve from Kats Botanicals is that it feels good in my hands, and it provides excellent moisture to the skin. I used this cream when I needed the healing benefits of CBD without the tingling sensation of menthol, which is found in a few of the creams I’ve already mentioned.
12. CBD Path 180MG Energy Boost Oral Spray
To be honest, I was surprised that this actually worked. I’m always leery of products that claim to boost energy because they usually don’t. What I found with this product is that it works, and when it works it works fast. Within minutes of spritzing my mouth, I felt alert, focused, yet incredibly calm. I recommend that all African-American seniors interested in being active throughout the day try this oral spray out. The citric taste reminds you of fresh squeezed orange juice, while the green tea extract gives you a lot more pep in your step.
Bonus: Urb White Whale CBG Hemp Flower
This is probably my favorite item on the list. When I was first asked to review this product, I was super curious because I only had seen a few people talk about CBG. When I received the flower, I immediately rolled a joint to see what the effects would be, and I was so blown away. If I had to add one cannabis product to my morning routine, then it is this White Whale CBG Hemp Flower because it helped me set the tone for my day. As soon as I inhaled, I felt calm and focused. Usually, my mind is very scrambled in the morning. This flower totally changed the game for me by elevating my mood without the serious psychoactive effects expected from THC-dominate strains.
