The ultra-trendy Art Basel has become the center of the week and since spawned heady happenings like the cannabis friendly “Terp Basel” festival and an array of functional glass art exhibits.
Miami Art Week is jam-packed with events, shows, and afterparties this year, so I compiled all of the must-see events in glass and hash to help you prioritize your social calendar. Now all you need is some sunscreen and a mojito.
Tuesday, December 5th
Elnew Art Release presented by Glass2Grass Gallery
When: VIP Hours 12-1 PM, GA Hours 1-7 PM
Where: Glass2Grass Gallery in Little River
What: Contemporary glass artist Elissa Newmeyer, known as ElNew Glass, releases a full body of work for initial viewing at Glass2Grass’s new gallery location. Featuring an array of decorative and functional glass in ElNew’s signature playful style full of bright color combinations and mind-bending shapes. Work will be available for viewing and purchase from 12-1 PM for VIPs and 1-7 PM with free admission. Complimentary wine, cold brew, and hors d’oeuvres will be provided while supplies last.
Wednesday, December 6th
Kengtaro Art Release presented by Glass2Grass Gallery
When: VIP Hours 12-1 PM, GA Hours 1-7 PM
Where: Glass2Grass Gallery in Little River
What: Legendary Japanese glass artist Kengtaro releases his first body of work at Glass2Grass’s new gallery location. Featuring his distinct silver fuming and adorably sculpted glass amphibians, this elusive artist’s work is a rare sight to see in Miami. Work will be available for viewing and purchase from 12-1 for VIPs and 1-7 PM with free admission. Complimentary wine, cold brew, and hors d’oeuvres will be provided while supplies last.
Drinking Vessels Miami Cup Collector’s Show
When: 6-10 PM
Where: Ocisly Ceramics in Wynwood
What: A celebration of craftsmanship and art, where talented artisans bring molten glass and clay to life through their skilled hands. Witness the magical transformation of raw materials into exquisite works of art in a beautiful garden in the middle of Miami’s art scene. Hosted by Drinking Vessels in partnership with Ocisly Ceramics and Liquid Death, Yerba Star, Luna Rossa Cucina, and Cafe Mezzanotte. Featuring handmade drinkware from Drinking Vessels founder Ben Belgrad as well as Salt Glass, Avant-Garde, Snic Barnes, and more plus installation art, musical performances, live glass blowing, and ceramics demonstrations.
Thursday, December 7th
Sibelley Art Release presented by Glass2Grass Gallery
When: VIP Hours 12-1 PM, GA Hours 1-7 PM
Where: Glass2Grass Gallery in Little River
What: Visionary glass sculptor and artist Sibelle Yüksek returns again to Glass2Grass for an intimate in-person release of her sleek and elegant feminine-forward designs. Work will be available for viewing and purchase from 12-1 for VIPs and 1-7 PM with free admission. Complimentary wine, cold brew, and hors d’oeuvres will be provided while supplies last.
Archipelago: A Gallery Show
When: 4-10 PM
Where: Dadewear in Little Havana
What: Cam Schmidt and friends team up with Surfer Girl Gallery and Studio 4 for day one of their art show featuring mixed media, canvas, and borosilicate glass art at Dadewear.

Glass & Gourmet presented by Glass2Grass Gallery
When: 5 PM-12 AM
Where: Boia De Restaurant in the Design District
What: A unique blend of art and culinary flair brought to you by Glass2Grass art gallery. Michelin-starred restaurant Boia De will be curating an intimate dinner experience for VIPs, as well as an open bar and endless buffet for the general entry soiree. Miami Fruit will be collaborating on this event to provide two exclusive Miami Fruit x Boia De dishes and a live DJ will be playing during the general admission time frame courtesy of Untz music festival. Featuring stunning glass art from renowned artists Ksukebey, Sibelley, Kengtaro, and more as well as canvas art from Atomiko, Renda Writer, and others.

Mins Basel Exhibition Series

Where: Mins Mansion, 7031 SW 82nd Ave
What: Mins Pipe Show will be hosting another installment of their “Mins Basel” exhibition series, starting with an art release and party featuring an incredible body of work from renowned artist Piper Dan. Following is a showcase of world-class borosilicate marbles featuring 50+ artists from throughout the Americas and Japan, and the evening ends with a general admission after-party.
Dab Day Art Basel Edition
When: Starting at 4 PM
Where: Wynwood
What: Experience live music, unique entertainment, art installations, local vendors, and more at an all-day celebration of cannabis culture and arts in the vibrant Wynwood Arts District, hosted by Dab Day.

What: Terp Basel is a cannabis-friendly four-day convention presented by @certifiedbaked and featuring a variety of unique experiences, entertainment, and self-care opportunities. Featured partners include 50+ premium brands with everyone from small batch makers like Sly Fox and Sugar Magnolia Farms to well-known industry players like Jelly Wizard and Sherbinskis. There will also be special guests like fellow Skunk writer Action Matt Jackson and the cannabis and coffee meme lord Truly Red Panda as well as live art, glassblowing, magic, and more. Tickets are available via Eventbrite.
Habatat Galleries Detroit Showcase
When: 12/5 VIP 4-8 PM, 12/6 – 12/10 11 AM-8 PM
Where: Miami Beach
What: Habatat Galleries Detroit will be participating in SCOPE Art Show and showcasing borosilicate glass work with @kuchekup and @iroczii. VIP showings are available on the 5th while general admission to the showcase is open from the 6th to 10th.
Casa De Cristal Showcas
When: 12/7 – 12/10 6-11 PM
Where: SkateBird Miami
What: Casa de Cristal will be presenting borosilicate glass art from Mothership Glass, LaceFace Glass, and Banjo Glass at SkateBird Miami. Admission to the showcase is open from the 7th to 10th.
