Five 710 Events to Hit This Year

The high hash holiday is nigh. July 10th, or 710, has emerged in recent years as a celebration of all things oil. Dab aficionados far and wide are currently cleaning their best heady rigs, excitedly waiting for exclusive drops and epic seshes. While not as well-known as 420, the date is still significant enough to warrant parties, seminars, and dispensary sales across the country. Here’s a shortlist of five awesome events going down this year—tap in!

Frenchy Dreams of Hashish World Premier – San Francisco

Folks in the Bay Area won’t want to miss the premiere of the long-anticipated documentary Frenchy Dreams of Hashish at the historic Marina Theatre. The film centers around the late Frenchy Cannoli, along with several Emerald Triangle cultivators in a story that will “amplify Frenchy’s and the farmers’ ethos of sustainable farming and their dedication to quality sun-grown cannabis.” A portion of proceeds from the film will benefit the Origins Council, a nonprofit advocacy association that serves 900 licensed small and independent cannabis businesses in six legacy-producing counties throughout California.

“It’s bittersweet to complete it now because obviously, it would have been a profoundly joyful thing to experience this with Frenchy. He really loved all the farmers he worked with in the Emerald Triangle,” said Kimberly Hooks, producer of the film and widow of Frenchy. “He wanted their longtime activism and dedication to quality highlighted.”

A Q&A with filmmakers will follow the screening. Tickets must be purchased in advance—purchase here.

Happy Munkey 710 Experience – NYC

Happy Munkey has been at the forefront of East Coast cannabis culture for years, with their infamous underground speakeasy a favorite of consumers and industry elite alike. While the New York scene may be experiencing a shift thanks to adult-use legalization, the OGs at Happy Munkey continue to raise the bar. Their 710 celebration should be nothing short of legendary, going down on a private rooftop in Chelsea.

“As NY starts its legal Cannabis industry, The Happy Munkey is proud to maintain its role as the trendsetters in the NYC market with unique legal consumption experiences as we’ll be doing on 710 with what we all anticipate to be another award-winning event,” said Stu Zakim, spokesperson for the organization.

Xtrator Depot Sesh – Los Angeles

Looking to get a headstart on your 7/10 fun? Xtractor Depot has you covered. The purveyors of all things extraction are hosting a massive sesh at their Montebello showroom on Friday, July 8th starting at 7 pm. Informative and engaging tech talks from brands like ChemTek and Media Bros will kick off the night, with a DJ to follow. Dab bars will be set up throughout the building, and there will be plenty of free food and drinks to keep the fam going all night.

“Guests can expect a good time, with good people along with an educational component explaining products and services from various extractors and vendors,” according to the XD marketing coordinator. “Xtractor Depot is just getting started, stay tuned we have a lot of great things coming.”

Another opportunity to learn and dab, this one-day event at ApisLabs will feature classes, spirited conversations, and of course, a session to cap it all off. Class participants will get media samples and an art coin from glass artist Marcel Braun, whose studio will play host to the after-hours festivities. The day will be live-streamed for those who can’t make it IRL, while sesh-only tickets are also available. The Future4200 community will also be in full force, so fans of the popular message boards should make a point to attend.

“After a couple of years of lockdown, it’s great to just be together,” said Catherine Sidman, sales director at Carbon Chemistry. “We’re having education, round table discussions, and live art, all with a side of hash. We are going to make connections that help us all #leveluptogether.”
