Alcohol and tobacco kill millions every day yet are fully approved and accepted in society, yet marijuana, that can actually provide several benefits without any lethal risks continues to be stigmatized and kept illegal. Sadly in our efforts to push for safe and legal access to the plant, we argued for its medicinal benefits and how preventing access is unconstitutional. This helped advocates somewhat, but unfortunately, the Canadian government can now limit access to the plant on the argument that it needs to be regulated and distributed as any other medicine. Did tobacconists and breweries have to argue that their substance was medicinal in order to legalize it? I don’t think so.

Sadly in our efforts to push for safe and legal access to the plant, we argued for its medicinal benefits and how preventing access is unconstitutional.

It’s also amusing that marijuana vapor lounges that only offer marijuana users a discrete place to consume are also in danger of getting shut down. Meanwhile, harm reduction sites provide heroin, meth, and crack users a place to consume their illegal drugs in peace. It’s about time the public sees the hypocrisy in all of this, and the limits being placed on free choice. The bottom line is that marijuana is safely enjoyed by millions around the world recreationally AND medicinally, and the people should be allowed to consume it as they wish.

For as long as people are freely available to smoke cigarettes, drink themselves silly, and eat Mcdonalds and chemical-laced foods that kill, marijuana users should be allowed to consume something that makes them feel more happiness, less pain, sleep better, eat more, and oh yeah, fight cancer.
