Ivy Hall Dispensaries, notably the first operator under the Illinois Social Equity Program, is thrilled to introduce Ivy Premium, their very own line of premium cannabis products!
Developed in partnership with Aeriz, Ivy Premium is cultivated cannabis flower grown exclusively for Ivy Hall. Ivy Premium is proud to debut its 3.5g flower jars as the first offering in our lineup, with more exciting products on the horizon.
So I asked Dominique White about Ivy Hall and her new offering named Ivy Premium. I’m hoping to taste her flowers, and I promise to review them before long. She’s obviously an avid (cannabis) nerd, and it shows in her carefully thought-out and intellectually intriguing descriptions. Touché!
Warren Bobrow: Please tell me about your new products. What sets them apart from the competition? Can you describe the process of discovery?
Dominique White: Ivy Premium, the first offering from Ivy Hall Dispensary, features aeroponically cultivated cannabis flower in partnership with our friends at Aeriz exclusively for Ivy Hall! Ivy Premium is offered in 3.5g flower jars and 1g pre-rolls!
IV Premium offers a luxurious experience with its terpene-rich, aeroponically grown cannabis. Each fluffy, beautiful flower promises a clean smoke, allowing you to tailor your desired effects. For those seeking a balanced hybrid experience, our Warheads strain boasts the perfect terpene profile, delivering both heady and body highs. Our Cherry Stomper, a delightful sativa-leaning hybrid, delights the senses with its exquisite flavor and appearance. Meanwhile, Jelly Roll stands out as a personal favorite, an indulgent purple indica flower that soothes the body and mind, making it ideal for relaxation or relief from aches and pains. As a socially conscious dispensary, we take pride in our in-house brand, crafted with care and commitment to premium quality.
WB: Tell me about your perfect cannabis experience. What is your favorite strain? Why?
DW: I prefer to smoke. Smoking is more than just a habit for me—it’s a sensory journey. From admiring the details of the flower to enjoying its aroma and taste, every aspect adds to the experience. As someone who loves to relax, I find a smooth, indica-leaning hybrid is the way to go. It’s not just about getting high; it’s about sinking into a deep, soothing calm that eases the tensions of the day. After hours spent on my feet, there’s nothing quite like unwinding with a well-deserved smoke, indulging in the rich flavors and textures, and letting the stress melt away.
WB: Do you get the munchies? What do you like to eat?
DW: Oh boy, those munchies can be a real challenge! I have quite the sweet tooth, so I’ve had to get creative with healthier options. Lately, I’ve been reaching for some refreshing mangoes, which are not only delicious but also packed with myrcene, a terpene found in all of our IV Premium strains. Eating mangoes after smoking can really enhance the high and help combat that dreaded dry mouth feeling.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I still occasionally crave some ice cream or salty snacks like Cheetos or Doritos, but I’ve been doing my best to resist temptation. Chocolate-covered cherries have become my latest obsession—they’re absolutely divine!
WB: When did you smoke the first time? Do you remember who you were with?
DW: I’ll always remember the turning point in my relationship with cannabis. Growing up, dance—hip hop, tap, jazz—was my passion and my antidote to the anti-drug campaigns surrounding cannabis. But during my freshman year of college, everything changed. Visiting a friend for homecoming, the opportunity to smoke a joint arose. We all gathered in a circle, passing around five joints among five of us. As the smoke drifted, I realized: this was different. Unlike alcohol, which left me feeling out of control, cannabis offered a sense of euphoria while maintaining my clarity.
That night, immersed in college party vibes, I experienced something new: waking up without a hangover. I felt ready to tackle the day, unfazed by the previous night’s festivities. It was a revelation—I understood why people turned to cannabis. From then on, it became my preferred way to indulge, especially as I ventured into the cannabis industry.
Working within this space, I’ve witnessed firsthand its medicinal benefits, particularly in managing my anxiety and stress. As a college student navigating uncertainty, cannabis became my ally, providing a means to unwind and find solace in the midst of life’s pressures. My freshman year marked the beginning of a love affair with cannabis—one that continues to enrich my life to this day.
WB: What is your passion?
DW: My true passion lies in empowering others and unlocking their full potential. Over the past four years in this industry, I’ve had the privilege of guiding individuals to discover capabilities they never knew they possessed. It’s been truly enlightening to witness their growth, particularly in breaking through barriers that may have seemed insurmountable otherwise.
One aspect that resonates deeply with me is the opportunity to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). By supporting individuals who share similar backgrounds to mine, I’ve played a role in helping them reach heights they may not have reached otherwise. This, to me, is where the real impact lies.
Working alongside individuals like Nigel, David, and Brian, especially with the advantage of a social equity license, underscores the significance of our efforts. We’re actively challenging the injustices perpetuated by the failed war on drugs. Many from marginalized communities have suffered its consequences, facing incarceration for minor cannabis-related offenses.
As a black woman hailing from the Southside of Chicago, finding success in an industry historically associated with drug sales holds profound meaning. It represents a tangible reward for those who have been disenfranchised—a beacon of hope amidst the systemic inequalities. It’s unacceptable that individuals continue to face imprisonment or separation from their families over cannabis possession or distribution.
Taking a seat at the table in this industry is not just about personal achievement; it’s about advocating for justice and equity. That’s where my passion truly lies—creating opportunities and advocating for a more equitable and just future for all.
