Dutch Dragon is a classic sativa from Amsterdam’s Paradise Seeds, which was first released 20 years ago and has won numerous cannabis awards over the years. Its lineage includes a potent Swaziland sativa and selected Skunk and Indian genetics. When it first came out it was a hit, particularly with growers in the USA and Spain. Sun grown, under more Mediterranean conditions, it will literally reach for the sky, with some specimens recorded at over 3 meters high.
Its popularity comes from its performance as a fiery (but Irie!) sativa which channels the feel-goodness of its African sativa heritage. Potent without ever being a teeth grinder, its uplifting nature is what has endeared it to fans over the years. The other calling card of this strain is the waft of sweet citrus which hangs in the grow room and carries through to its dried state.
In scent and taste it is underpinned by subtle notes of tangerine, wrapped in a sweet coating and a smoothness which is a commonly noted characteristic. Paradise chose this sativa classic as the starting point for its 2020 release, Apricot Candy, adding Thin Mint Cookies into the mix to take the fruity sweetness to new levels.
