Howdy my esteemed homeskillets! Hey so, at present here I am in the process of inbreeding the Riffraff Thai for re-release at KOS, just up the road here. I thought this would be a great time to make sure you get a chance to see this high power hunny. Let’s check it out…
MORE INFO – P1s Etc.
The (paternal P1) father is actually two individual Deep Chunk (DC) males. I have inbred the Deep Chunk several times now and have always selected for 3 biggies: yields/size, purple expressions, and potency/resin production. The DC always brings massive resin production to the table, along with big fat dense colas and larger yields overall; as a rule of thumb.
The (maternal P1) female, is a hybrid made by an old buddy of mine (Opie Kenope); like, well over a decade ago. She’s called Kali Thai (KT), and talk about some serious potency, whoa! The Kali Thai is a 2-way F1 hybrid, made using (pre 2000 genetics) Kali Mist, and Juicyfruit Thai. The JFT was not the true sativa dominant JFT from Holland, this was the shorter stouter indica looking version, out of Canada.
The Riffraff Thai basically has two main phenotypes, with some sub-variants within those two phenotypes. The first one leans on the indica side fairly heavy, in looks and effects. Huge yielding with fat colas, super dense; and just dripping with resin. The other phenotype I call the “Kali Pheno” and she represents a much higher sativa influence in her looks and her resin profile. Seriously spacey and intense.
POINTS TO CONSIDER WHEN GROWING RIFFRAFF THAI HYBRID:
- The Deep Chunk is well known for being a bit fussy when it comes to her pH and she prefers it on the higher side. I have noticed this in all of the Riffraff Thai offspring, although they are less fussy about it than the Deep Chunk, it’s still a thing to be aware of.
- Air exchange and air circulation, along with humidity control is important when flowering these. The buds are so large and dense that they can be subject to mold like the dreaded bud-rot, unless you make sure your environment is good regarding air flow and humidity levels.
THE SMOKING RUN DOWN BY REV
Get ready for a smackdown! No kidding, and this is the kind of cannabis where right after I exhale the first hit or two, I can detect my eyebrows breaking out in a bit of a sweat. Always a great sign, in my book. One of the resin properties present in all the females I have seen, is the “greasy” resin. It makes primo pressed hashish, staying pliable for weeks, and smokes like a dream.
Definitely not sleepy out of the gate for the first couple of hours. Truly a spacey ride, really takes your head down the rabbit hole. The Kali pheno especially shines regarding that spacey side of things. The indica pheno gets pretty relaxing at about the 2-hour mark, and usually causes me heavy munchies at that point. The Kali pheno stays pretty energetic actually, and seems fully to be a recombination phenotype that is Kali Mist dominant by a tad. Both phenos are highly enjoyable and deadly potent.
I hope you all enjoyed your look at this crazy good hybrid, the Riff Raff Thai. Look for her in about 4 months at KOS. Please do go pay a visit to KOS online, have a look around. The KOS newsletter is the frontline when it comes to being notified about new releases. No spam bullshit, just the important news. L8r G8rs and Happy Trails … See ya all next week.

I hail from Southern California, spent mucho time in Northern California, and now reside in Southern Oregon; always coastal. I am an all natural style cannabis grower and I have written a couple books on the subject - check out True Living Organics 2nd Edition on Amazon - I have been growing for over 45 years, and I have been breeding cannabis for over 30 years. Check out kingdomorganicseeds.com to see some exotic selections. Growing connoisseur cannabis is what I teach mostly, growing it in living soil without using liquid organic nutrients to feed the plant. I am also a highly skilled synthetics grower, hydroponics, aeroponics, DWC/SWC/NFT, Ebb and Flow, and soilless, but I cringe when smoking synthetic grown herbs, so for the last 15 years or so I preach the artisan style of all natural growing, specializing in container growing. Cheers and welcome aboard.
